Bristol Blue "Aurora" Glass Vases

A very special collection of silver blue glass vases. A glossy and shiny pattern on the surface of is achieved by adding silver oxide to the molten glass. As the silver oxide is heated it reacts with oxygen to produce a beautiful silvery-blue pattern on the surface, all by itself. This creates an iridescent effect where the glassware colours appear to change in hue and tone when viewed at different angles. The creation of the pattern is an entirely natural phenomenon and no two patterns are ever the same. You are therefore buying a totally unique product.

SALE and Studio 'Seconds'

These studio 'second' items were all made by our apprentices. It takes 8 years to train to be a glassmaker and our talented apprentices have been honing their skills until they get the products completely right. This means these pieces will possibly be slightly smaller, larger or wonkier than our usual range. The photographs of the products on offer here are presented as a guide.

All of our glass is handmade using traditional techniques, no moulds or machines are used at any point during the process. As a result of this there will always be slight variations from piece to piece.

Multicoloured Glass

At Original Bristol Blue Glass we don't just make pure Bristol blue glass! In this range you can buy multicoloured glassware including baubles and sculptures, as well as blue glass with a slight "twist". All of these products (like everything else) is handmade in our Bristol factory.

For now our multicolour charm beads are limited to these two fabulous pieces, but we think you'll love them. Both are created from lampworked glass in our Bristol factory and have a fusion of colours that make them stand out from the crowd - loud and proud.

Dichroic Glass Necklaces

These dichroic glass necklaces combine a mixture of glass colours with one dominating to produce a sparklingly-radiant glass stone. We are very confident you will love these pieces, which are all available in chain lengths of 16" or 18". Handmade in our Bristol glassmaking factory using lampworked glass and fitted with sterling silver snake chains.

Multicoloured Glass Sculptures

This is our range of multicoloured glass sculptures, showcasing some exclusive designs from our in-house team of glassmakers David Barry, Alex Wildig and Ty Sheppard. You certainly won't find these anywhere else and all our beautifully-crafted to order in our Bristol glassmaking factory. We also have a gorgeous multicoloured mini swan sculpture too which is certainly worthy of your attention.

Dichroic Glass Earrings

We are very proud of our dichroic glass earrings and for very good reason - they are stunningly beautiful. Each glass stone is made from a mix of coloured glass with one colour dominating. The overall effect is a beautiful, sparkling and glinting pair of earrings that will always have glitz.

Amber Glass Charm Beads

A deep orange amber glass charm bead graces this collection. Handmade in Bristol with a 5mm hole for attachment to most bracelets, the amber glass is a gorgeous colour and will grace any outfit it is worn with.

Amethyst Glass Charm Beads

Our amethyst glass charm beads are a red-purple colour and will fit most bracelets, including Pandora bracelets too. Perfect for the big occasion or equally at home when you want to dress down. Doesn't your bracelet deserve this gorgeous charm bead?

Green Glass Charm Beads

Our range of green glass charm beads ready and waiting to sit around your wrist on a pretty bracelet. We currently have three variations of green beads to choose from including classic deep emerald green, softer lime green and a slightly blue-green teal green glass charm bead. All handmade especially for you.

Teal Glass Earrings

Teal is a bluish shade of green and we are very proud of teal glass earrings in this collection. Available in a range of styles including drop hook earrings as well as stud earrings, be sure to also take a good look at our wonderful pair of teal and green mix dichroic stud glass earrings which are guaranteed to give you some extra sparkle.

Dichroic Glass Rings

A stunning collection of dichroic colour glass rings comprising cabochon glass stones measuring 7mm in diameter. Every stone is set in an adjustable, hallmarked sterling silver ring. Put some glitz on your finger with these wonderful and sparkly rings, handmade in the UK.

Our range of green glass rings consist of dichroic green glass in two different shades - teal and lime. Each stone cabochon is set in an adjustable, hallmarked sterling silver ring. Watch as the colours in the stones glint and catch the light as they move.

The Bristol Blue "Aurora" Collection

Bristol Blue Glass have redesigned and re-imagined our 'Aurora' Collection, taking inspiration from the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).

The lustrous pattern on the surface of the glass is silver.

Silver oxide is added to the molten glass, which when heated reacts with the oxygen-hungry flame, leaving behind a spectacular display or iridescence.

If you would like to learn the art of glassmaking then these fabulous courses are just for you. Under our expert tuition and guidance you can learn the craft and experience for yourself what glassblowing is all about. We offer 2 and 4 hour glassmaking courses giving you a unique opportunity to learn this wonderful art. By the end of it you will be hooked!

Venetian Style Stemware

Our Venetian style glass is made by our head glass maker David Barry.  David’s career in the glass industry began at the age of 19 here at Bristol Blue Glass. Specialising in hot glass, David soon became at one with this magical medium. His skills range from goblets, blown vessels and solid forms, taking a keen interest in ancient glass and Venetian style glass.
